Since the COVID-19-induced lockdown started back in March, there have been many, many, many articles, blogs and social media posts about remote work and how to cope.

Here are two that I found particularly helpful:

2020 Reads

How’s everyone holding up? Like most people it’s the end of week 1 of self-isolation/quarantine and I can’t lie – it’s been rough.

I’m sure we all are working through our feelings of frustration, anxiety, sadness.

I hope you have found outlets that promote happiness and reassurance during this crazy time.

Like you, I’ve had a lot of time on my hands. One of the things that I’ve been doing is compiling a list of books that I’m most looking forward to reading this year. Some of the books are previous releases as well as ones that are set to be released later this year.

In this time of uncertainty I think one thing is guaranteed – BOOKS.

Leave The Mortal Instruments series alone

The evil is almost defeated. The evil being Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments TV series on Freeform & Netflix. Now that the series is in its endgame with its final two episodes on the horizon, I am here to make a plea to anyone and everyone who will listen: Leave The Mortal Instruments series alone.

Snow Day Vibes

I’m currently in the middle of my second official Snow Day of 2019! (Well, technically my third due to freezing rain we had in the city last Wednesday that lead to multiple class cancellations.)

Self-Care experts like myself have perfected the art of how to use Snow Days wisely. For some, it may be harder to actually be productive during days when you are snowed in and the temptations of your home (your bed, TV, game console, your phone etc.) are all around you

Don’t fret! I’m here to offer you some advice on how you can use your Snow Day in a way that you will thank yourself for come tomorrow.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly of Live TV Musicals

Live TV musicals were the norm back in the day, but for our generation they were revived in 2013 with NBC’s live production of The Sound of Music.

Since then, TV networks have joined in the live musical frenzy.

The good thing about live TV musicals is that they give people who may not have the privilege a chance to watch live stage productions.

The bad thing about live TV musicals…well…sometimes they just don’t hit the mark with fans. (And trust me, musical theatre nerds are SAVAGE.)

Here are my rankings – As well as a special review from guest blogger, Sincerely, Jen – of every live TV musical production since 2013:

Gotham is the best show DC has

If it hasn’t already been made crystal clear to you from my previous posts, I am a Marvel stan through and through. Even so, I do have a soft spot for some DC content from time to time.

In my opinion, Gotham is by far the best thing DC has going for it in terms of its television shows. (Full disclosure, I am a fan of The Flash because Barry Allen and Co. are just too entertaining and pure to resist. Other than that, I don’t watch any of the other Arrow-verse programs…With the exception of the yearly crossover episodes.)

5 films of 2019!

Happy New Years Eve everyone! I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and are enjoying the final days of rest and relaxation this week.

Whether you are planning to have a wild night out with your besties or a quiet night in with just you, a glass of champagne and Netflix (who? me?), I hope you have a great night and all the best in the new year!

Though most of 2018 was a gong show (and honestly, I don’t see much changing unless a certain president booted out of the White House) at least 2019 has some great films in store for us! Here are the 5 films – as well as some honourable mentions – I’m most looking forward to in 2019:

Peter Parker? I don’t know him.

Can you believe that 2018 really gave us a superhero film starring an all Black cast AS WELL AS a film starring a Biracial superhero? If you need proof that this year wasn’t completely trash, there is your proof.

The day it was announced that Marvel got the film rights to Spider-Man back from Sony, I just knew that we would finally get the Miles Morales live action Spider-Man film adaptation we all deserve. Clearly I was getting ahead of myself because instead of Miles, we got yet another Peter Parker reboot in the form of Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Avengers: Endgame Trailer

Hey MCU Fandom,

How are we today? Are we excited? Scared? Happy? Traumatised? A manic ball of emotions that won’t be able to properly rest until the release of Avengers: Endgame April 26, 2019?

It’s the latter for me.

Today was my final day of classes for the term and just before the start of class this morning, I logged into Twitter to see that the trailer we have all been anxiously waiting for since the end of Infinity War had been released.

The rest of the day was an absolute write off because the only thing on my mind was the trailer and what we are in for come April.

Here are the things that (traumatised me) stood out the most to me in the trailer:
